Our Plan
We are Helen Dallas and Stephen Robbie and on June 25th 2008 we are going to begin walking the West Highland Way, which links Milngavie outside Glasgow and Fort William in the Highlands, to raise funds for the Mamie Martin Fund.
The Money
Malawi is a small country in East Central Africa, slightly bigger than Scotland. The Mamie Martin Fund was established in 1993 by the family and friends of Mamie Martin (Helen’s great grandmother) to advance the education of girls in Malawi, where there is a shortage of secondary school places for girls.

The Walk
The West Highland Way is a 95 mile walk, passing from the Lowlands, across the Highland Boundary Fault and into the Scottish Highlands. It will take us seven days to complete the walk. We have set ourselves the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis if we reach our target of £500.

How YOU can help
- Sign a Sponsor Form! We will be carrying sponsor forms around until the walk. Stop one of us and sign up!
- Send a cheque! If you aren’t likely to see either of us before the walk, cheques made payable to Mamie Martin Fund can be donated. Email helendallas@live.co.uk to find the address to send a cheque to.
- Tell people! Tell everyone you know who might be interested and willing to donate a little money. Add a link to this website on your page.
- Visit the Mamie Martin Fund website! And find out how you can help the fund in other ways.
